The replaceable tip scraper is a tool for removing adhesives adhered to metal parts. The cutting edge material is A7075 series aluminium alloy. The optimal cutting edge material is selected according to the application, achieving high removal performance without damaging the workpiece. Removal amount is significantly increased compared to conventional removal operations. The amount of solvent used in the subsequent process is reduced, and the work time is also shortened. When the cutting edge is worn out or used for other purposes, only the cutting edge can be replaced, thereby reducing running costs. The new system achieves “high removal performance”, “reduced solvent usage”, “reduced working hours”, and “reduced running costs”.

“Current status and challenges”
During wire EDM processing of metal parts, adhesives are applied to prevent products from falling off. Solvents are used to completely remove the adhesive from the product after processing, but because of the high environmental and safety risks posed by chemical substances, there has been a demand for reducing the amount of solvent used and shortening the work time.
Although commercially available scrapers are used to remove the adhesive before the solvent process, common cutting edges scratch the workpiece and wear quickly, requiring replacement with a new one each time.

The “Replaceable tip scraper” realizes an optimal cutting edge structure and an easy-to-hold shank shape through molding technology.
For removal performance and product protection, A7075 aluminium alloy is used for the cutting edge material.
More adhesive can be removed before the solvent process, contributing to reduced solvent consumption and shorter working hours.
When cutting edge wears out, replacement costs are minimized as tips are replaceable.
