── Introducing ideas and technologies ──
The TFS drill uses straight cutting edges and double cross-thinning to ensure cutting edge strength and low thrust. The drill also has a high chip evacuation performance due to a flute design that takes chip evacuation into consideration. The TFS drill Type C uses low-thrust thinning and double margins suitable for cast iron machining to achieve stable machining accuracy. Both drills feature a dedicated multi-layer coating as standard to improve wear resistance.

Development / product concept
“Current status and challenges”
In the machining of cast iron and steel, thrust resistance was high and chip evacuation was poor, so efficiency could not be increased without sacraficing accuracy. In addition, cutting heat was high, which reduced the service life of the tool.
“Development points”
The TFS drill has a wide flute pocket shape to ensure high chip evacuation and a cutting edge shape suitable for machining steel to achieve low resistance
The TFS drill type C has a special thinning geometry specially designed for cast iron machining to reduce thrust. The double margin specification suppresses vibration during cutting and enables high-precision hole drilling, while the use of a multi-layer coating significantly improves service life.
